The research team

Locating the Mobile engages three CIs from RMIT University (CIs Hjorth, Horst and Pink), three PIs (PIs Kato, Zhou and Bell) from two academic institutions (Keio University, Tokyo and Fudan University, Shanghai) and a leading multinational computer technology corporation (Intel).

This Australian Research Council (ARC) Linkage project will provide an opportunity for significant knowledge exchange between the academic research team and Intel’s research and development divisions.

The research team contains a unique combination of expertise in mobile media, ethnography and the Asia-Pacific region. All CIs and the PIs will contribute to the intellectual and strategic leadership of the project according to their research strengths and interests and for managing the work of Research Assistants (RAs). Hjorth will oversee the Melbourne RA, Kato the Tokyo RA, and Zhou the Shanghai RA. Hjorth will ensure communication and consistency across the three sites.
